What is Colour therapy, or Chromatherapy?

"Chromotherapy, sometimes called color therapy or colorology, is an alternative medicine method. It is claimed that a therapist trained in chromotherapy can use color and light to balance energy wherever a person's body be lacking, be it physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental." Wikipedia.

The Intuitive Tarot: Unlock the Power of Your Creative Subconscious

During the 1 st . Annual UK Tarot Conference in October 2004, I met Cilla Conway creator of The Intuitive Tarot, who was launching this new tarot pack, and I immediately felt a connection with her, which later extended to her tarot pack as well.

Over the next few weeks and months, I found myself increasingly drawn to using The Intuitive Tarot and wanting to familiarise myself with the cards... While one can be subjective about art, Cilla Conway’s Intuitive Tarot is about releasing one’s intuition. And, there is something for everyone - if you allow the images to ‘communicate’ with you. Each card’s image is unique and dynamic, swirls, spirals, flowing lines, and stylised elongated figures with alien-like faces seem to move and leap across the cards with such energy.

The more I work with Cilla Conway’s cards, the more I appreciate the originality of her art and interpretation.  I find the images stimulate the mind in new directions. It took Cilla nearly twenty years for her dream to manifest – and the results are a delight.

Colour & Creativity

"Every child is an artist, the problem is remaining an artist when he grows up.” Pablo Picasso

Theo Gimbel is a pioneer in the field of colour research and colour healing. His inspiration comes from Goethe's theory of colour and its development and application by Rudolf Steiner. He re-awakened interest in colour and light therapy in the 1970s and instituted many of the now well-practised methods of diagnosis and colour application. In 1984, Theo Gimbel founded the International Association of Colour, now a world-recognised organisation.

Mandala - The Art of Creating Future, by June-Elleni Laine.
"Art has been in the human consciousness for more than 40,000 years. It's as unique to us as a species as being able to talk. We have developed the ability to create art as a plan or aspect of future and not just to copy what we see. For an ability to have survived the test of time over tens of thousands of years, must make it an important skill, and even fundamental to our survival. This book explain why we need to revive it as a common tool to create our future or otherwise walk in the shoe's of Neanderthal, who went extinct!" I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will start designing my own Mandalas, it explains how mandals act as a template to bring forward and contain the energy helping you to manifest your intentions and desires.Amazon UK, Amazon USA.

About Theo Gimbel

During the early twentieth century, Rudolph Steiner investigated the therapeutic uses of colour, relating colour to form, shape and sound. Steiner's work was continued by Theo Gimbel, who established the Hygeia Studios and College of Colour therapy in Britain.

Sadly, Theo Gimbel passed away on June 21, 2004. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to first learn about colour from Theo Gimbel, when attending his lectures and courses. I urge you to read his books and to find out for yourselves how the use colour can help and support you.

What is a Mandala?

"Mandala - Sanskrit word meaning container for essence, circle, totality, completion or primordial sound.

Mandala, is the 'space' where the inner and outer worlds meet, a 'place' that can hold and represent the powerful energy of intention (creation). I use Mandala's in Psychic Art as objective 're-mind-ers' to shift the vibration of the perceiver,to the 'right' frequency to attract a specific 'goal' or 'quality'.

Learning to create your own Mandalas is very empowering, and an empowering way to practice the art of focusing your mind. Remember Mandala's are powerful tools and should not be taken lightly or abused. If used with a reverence for life, respecting the free will of others, the Mandala will serve its maker very well.

Visual Mandala's are often circular or geometrical, although we need not be limited by that idea. The yellow smiley face icon is probably the most well known visual mandala in the western world - designed to reproduce the energy of a smile and as you can see it often generates a smile in the observer!

Remember to think carefully about any works of art you hang in your home, each contains the energy of the artist as well as the subject of the picture and can affect the energy of all those who see it regularly... that means you! Sound Mandala's often take the form of chants, mantras, resolutions or pieces of music written to evoke the feeling of a theme; often achieved in film music, by gifted composers. They are used to accompany messages in advertising as a memorable 'sting'."
